Virginia appellate courts repeatedly have held that the Unemployment Compensation Act was intended to provide temporary financial assistance to workers who become unemployed without fault on their part, and should be and construed in a liberal and remedial manner.  Yet too often valid claims are denied for legally insufficient reasons.  This session will review the procedural rules and substantive law of unemployment compensation, and provide time-tested tips for preparing and presenting unemployment compensation claims.
